Wayne Edward Loftis

Wayne Edward Loftis of Virgilina, VA, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 82. Born on October 17, 1939 in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Clifton Edward and Molly Murray Loftis and was married to Patricia Brown Loftis, who survives. Wayne served in the National Guard for 6 years. He worked for 41 years at Burlington Industries, where he was an electrical supervisor. Wayne loved his family and his dogs.He enjoyed cooking and making his “rounds” in the Virgilina community, checking on the farm. He was a member at Union Christian Church. In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Beth Nutter (Mark), Connie Terry (Jamie), Chad Loftis and Ken Loftis; grandchildren, Jennifer Nunn (Will Newcomb), Wyatt Terry, Jacob Terry, Morgan Loftis and Colton Loftis; great grandchildren, Nathan Finch, Meredith Finch, Cassidy Newcomb, Chasen Newcomb and Camden Newcomb; great-great grandchild, Tristian Campbell and a host of other family members. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 2 in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The Reverend Jack Stewart will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
