Wayne Jackson Sizemore

Wayne Jackson Sizemore, of Skipwith, VA, passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Born in Halifax County, VA, on December 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Alva and Marie Hall Sizemore. Wayne was married to Sue Weston Sizemore for 50 loving years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Wayne was a retired tobacco farmer.  Before retiring, he and Sue loved to travel.  Wayne has always been a hunter and fisherman, and was a charter member of the Twin County Hunt Club.  After retiring, Wayne could be found most days hanging out at JR’s Country Store in Skipwith.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his sister-in-law, Julia Clark; brother-in-law, Warren Weston (Pam); special brother and sister, Chip and Diane Bayer; nieces, Donna Hale (Dave), Lisa Lowman (David), Kelly McCoy (Andy), Wendy Bohanon (Timmy), Toni Wilkins (Chris), Kimberly Abernathy (Donnie); great nieces and nephews, Courtney, Hannah, Jakob, Matthew, Dylan, Dustin, Blake, Emma, and Nathan.  Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Billy Sizemore.

The family will hold a funeral service for Wayne on Monday, September 2, 2024 at 2 pm at Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak, VA with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior in the church.  In lieu of flowers, Wayne's family ask that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
