William Albert West

Clarksville, VA - Mr. William Albert West, husband of the late Emma Jo Meschine West, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born on August 27, 1928 in Port Wentworth, GA to the late Charles and Addie Aldred West. Mr. West served in the United States Navy. He was a mechanical engineer by trade, brilliant in machine design. He also was an avid and successful fisherman, both fresh and saltwater. Mr. West is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sue West of Clarksville; grandsons Joseph West, Levi West, Patrick Beverly and Lewis Beverly ; granddaughters Norah West and Rita Mays and great grandchildren Georgia, Candice, Joseph and Michael. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by son Bob West, daughter Shirley West Mays, brother Richard West, sister Helen Williams and great grandson Tristan Keel. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA on Thursday, October 25th from 7 – 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
