William Nelson Baskervill, Jr.

William Nelson Baskervill, Jr. passed away February 17, 2023. He was born on October 2, 1950 to the late William Nelson Baskervill, Sr. and the late Julia Alice Moore Baskervill.

Bill was brought up in South Boston, VA and graduated from Halifax County High School in 1969. He attended Virginia Tech on a golf scholarship where he earned a bachelor's degree in education. After graduating he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, United Virginia Bank and later became the branch manager of Wachovia Bank.
Bill was an avid golfer, winning numerous local and state golf tournaments. He was a member of the South Boston Rotary Club and the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in South Boston serving as a deacon.

Bill is survived by his wife, Robin Williams Baskervill; son, William Nelson Baskervill III, and grandson Jonathan Duke Baskervill. He is also survived by his sisters Judy B. Rille (Earnest), Margaret "Meg" Talley (Bill); brother Charles T. Baskervill (Pam) and a host of nieces & nephews.
In addition to this parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan David Baskervill.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Main Street United Methodist Church in South Boston, VA.
