William "Bill" Moseley Bass

Mr. William "Bill" Moseley Bass, Jr. of South Boston, VA died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on August 13, 1931 to the late Adele Woodburn Bass and the late William Moseley Bass, Sr. and was married to Mary Sadler Bass. Mr. Bass was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an employee of the Sprint Telephone Company. He was a devoted member of Ash Ave. Baptist Church and graduated from Turbeville High School. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sadler Bass of South Boston, VA; a brother, Walter H. Bass, III and wife, Barbara of South Boston, VA; and two sisters, Anne Burke and husband, Carl of Chatham, VA and Jewel Rosser and husband, James of Graham, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George E. Bass and Jacob W. Bass. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Eure officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Tuesday night from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Walter and Barbara Bass, 7040 Philpott Rd., South Boston, VA.
