William "Bill" Francis Hackney

William Francis “Bill” Hackney of Mint Hill, NC formally of Glen Allen, VA passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the age of 76. He was born on December 15, 1946, the son of the late Buddie Lee Hackney and Mary Melton Hackney. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Charles Lee Hackney and sister-in-law, Christine Hackney. Bill is survived by his devoted niece, Pamela Peters (Henry); great nephews, Josh Peters (Kelly) and Jacob Peters (Jacqueline); ex-wife and long-term friend, Robin Heath; step-children, Heath Case, and Doni Crowell (Brent) and a host of other family members. Bill spent most of his working career in the pharmaceutical industry where he enjoyed many successes.Prior to his working career, Bill served his country with the United States Army. In his free time, Bill enjoyed two passions, racing open-wheeled modified cars and playing golf. On any given Friday or Saturday night he could be found somewhere listening to music, pretending to dance and enjoying the company of his buddies. Bill was a friend to everyone and he never met a stranger.He will be truly missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jane Lyon officiating.
