William Cralle "Billy" Burton

William Cralle "Billy" Burton passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the age of 69.  Born in Halifax County on December 11, 1953, he was the son of Margaret Throckmorton Burton and the late Edward Burton.

Billy was a retiree of JP Stevens and was also employed with Sunshine Mills.  He loved racing and football. His passion was cooking and loved to  feed the community.

He is survived by his children, Ben Burton, Mandy Daniel (Jamie Nichols), Amy Duffer (Bucky), Lizzy Long (Mike) and Chad Burton; stepson, Steven Snead; grandchildren, Drake, Eli, Gabby, Blake, Haley, LilyAnn, Chloe, Jade, Heidi, Isaiah, Tytus, Autumn, Karis, Rory and Micah; step granddaughter, Alexis; siblings, Ed Burton (Patsy) and Pam Ratliff; mother, Margaret Throckmorton Burton; his beloved dog, Diesel and niece & nephew, Shane Burton and Brandy DeGraw.   He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Burton.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at his home.
