William Edward Dillion, husband of the late Shirleen Turner Dillion, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born in Jenkin Jones, WV, on September 4, 1929, to the late Hite Dillion and Naomi Odell Dillion. William served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. After his military retirement, he worked at General Electric for another 20 years. He also worked as a substitute teacher, football coach, and softball coach at Bluestone High School for 17 years. William is survived by sons, Thomas Hite Dillion and William E. Dillion, Jr.; grandchildren, Kenneth Dillion (Raven) of Ocean Side, CA, Michael Dillion (Lindsey) of Chase City, VA, Amanda Quisenberry (Gerald), William E. Dillion, III, all of Floyd, VA, Matthew Dillion (Danielle) of Alexandria, VA, Marshall Dillion and Alexis Humbertson (Josiah) all of Suffolk, VA, and Devin Lewis of West Virginia; and by great grandchildren, Luna, Emberlee, Justin, Jacob, Michael, Jr., Parker, Bennett, Avery, Blayne, Bryce, Josiah, Jr., and Stella. In addition, he is predeceased by his daughter, Teresa Lewis; brothers, Muncie Jones, John Jones (Joann), Jack Jones, Wesley Dillion, Lonie Dean Dillion and Gene Dillion (Lynn). A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, July 31 in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Kenneth Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 P.M.
