William Derwood Hall

North Chesterfield, VA - William Derwood Hall, husband of Shirley Tingen Hall, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on May 11, 1930 in Halifax County, Virginia to the late Luther and Rosa Lee Hall. William was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired in 1992 from Honeywell Corporation after 32 years of service. In addition to his wife, William is survived by his son Derwood Wayne Hall, granddaughter Ryleigh Hall and a brother Garnett Hall.Also surviving is a step-son James Edward Wiles and step-grandchildren Quinci A. Wiles and Alyssa C. Wiles. William was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearlie Elliott Hall and his siblings, Leroy Hall, Junior Hall and Virginia Watts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow. Interment will be at Virgilina Cemetery. The Reverend James McAllister will officiate.
