William “Dub” Warren Hosmer of Clarksville, VA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 66. He was born on April 29, 1955 in Bartow, FL and was the son of the late William Allen and Anne Knepton Hosmer. Dub grew up in the Bartow area where he enjoyed fishing with his dad, time at the family ranch in Brooksville, and was an active member of the FFA.After serving in the Navy as a young adult, he returned home to Bartow for a few years before beginning work at McDonnell Douglas in Titusville, FL where he supported the Tomahawk missile program. He continued working on the Tomahawk program with SAIC in Maryland and remained a loyal Tomahawker for the remainder of his career. In 2018, Dub retired from his job as a configuration analyst and moved to Clarksville full-time.He found joy in returning to the country life here and became very involved in Water’s Edge Community Church. Dub’s faith, while always a big part of him, grew into an even stronger personal relationship with our loving Lord over the last several years. The fellowship he had with his church family at Water’s Edge helped foster and encourage the renewal of his faith in Christ. Dub will be remembered for his love of family, his friends, and country. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, trading naval stories with his son, helping others, and spending time with his friends at the local brewery. His natural inclination to see the best in people and thoroughly enjoy life will be profoundly missed by all those who knew him. Dub is survived by his children, Quinton Hosmer and Coryne Erb (Daniel), his sisters, Chene Wynn and Suanne Fechtmeyer (Phil), former wife, Cindy Hosmer, and niece and nephews.
