William Caldwell Plemons

William C. “Bill” Plemons, Jr. age 84, of Capps Cove Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away on April 16, 2015, in Clarksville, VA.Born November 8, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN, he was the youngest of eight children, born to the late William Caldwell and Nancy Alice Guinn Plemons.On August 19, 1950 he married Vera Mae Williams in Rossville, GA.Bill and Vera celebrated 53 years of friendship and marriage before she passed away on January 28, 2004.Bill was a respected fabric designer who began his career at Peerless Woolen Mills in Rossville, GA.Then he moved to Halifax, VA and later transferred to Clarksville with Burlington Menswear, where he retired in 1999 after 48 years.He is survived by their sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Douglas and Geri Plemons of Youngsville, NC and Chad Alan and Heather Plemons of Danville, VA.He is also survived by his twin granddaughters Erin Elizabeth and Lindsey Renee Plemons.A graveside memorial service for Mr. Plemons will be held on Sunday, April 19th at four o’clock pm, at Oakhurst Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: Lake Country SPCA, The Mecklenburg Rescue Squad, or Clarksville Ruritans.
