William Lee Pulliam

Mr. William Lee Pulliam of 5148 Red Bank Rd., Virgilina, VA died Monday, September 23, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on March 17, 1934 to the late Walter Lee Pulliam and the late Alpha Simmons Pulliam and was married to Janie Compton Pulliam. Mr. Pulliam was retired from Rochester Button Co. and was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Janie Compton Pulliam; two sons, William Junior Pulliam of Cluster Springs, VA and Jerry Ray Pulliam and wife, Barbara of Virgilina, VA; a daughter, Alice P. Smith and husband, Robert of Virgilina, VA; one brother, Mason Pulliam of Virgilina, VA; five sisters, Georgia P. Anderson of Virgilina, VA, Ida P. Smith of Virgilina, VA, Frances P. Gittman of South Hill, VA, Ruby P. Wade of Virgilina, VA, and Betty P. Smith of Virgilina, VA; a granddaughter, Beckie Smith; and a grandson, Brandon Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Amos Pulliam. Funeral services will held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 pm until 8:30 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home and at other times at his home.
