SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Willie Marvin Clay of Leigh Street, South Boston, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 74.Born in Halifax County on May 16, 1944, he was the son of the late Willie Thomas Clay and the late Beatrice Barksdale Clay and was married to Betty Moore Clay. In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by a daughter, Robin Lewis and fiancé, Aubrey Owen of South Boston; grandchildren, Lauren Hope Milam, Brianna August Boelte, Brooke Alexandria Boelte and Summer Hope Lewis; sisters, Jean Bowyer and husband Kenneth of Phenix, VA, Prindle Dalton and husband Ed of Keeling, VA, Norma Kendrick and husband, Sherman of Danville,VA, Verna Conner of Danville, Va, Ethel Bea Moore of Altavista, VA, Ramona Elliott and husband, Floyd of South Boston, VA and Audrey Elaine McGuire and husband, Jerry of Pelham, NC and numerous family members and friends. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope C. Milam; brothers, Douglas Clay and Glenn Clay; and sisters, Christine Jones and Lucille Pruitt. Funeral services for Marvin Clay will be Friday, June 1, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverend Don Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 2:00-3:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
