Wilson Dennis Newton

Clarksville, VA Wilson Dennis Newton, husband of the late Linda Wilkerson Newton, left for his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the age of 84. He was born on November 6, 1935, in South Boston, VA, to the late James Hammett and Jeanette Wiles Newton. Dennis was a tobacco farmer and owned Newton Trailer Court. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan, who enjoyed rabbit hunting and visiting with friends at Hardee’s. First and foremost, Dennis was a beloved father and grandfather, who faithfully supported his children and grandchildren’s athletic endeavors. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Cherishing his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Todd Nunn of Buffalo Junction; son, Michael Newton of Clarksville; grandchildren, Stephen Newton, Ashleigh Newton and Megan Nunn and a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Aubrey Heath. Dennis was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Union Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend Chris Sorenson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 24th from 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Union Chapel Church.
