Woodson Magnus Rice

VIRGILINA, VA Mr. Woodson Magnus Rice of 1181 Gills Mountain Rd., Virgilina, VA died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the age of 66. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 12, 1948 to Louise Morris Rice andthe late Claude Swanson Rice. Mr. Rice was a retired HVAC Tech for Climate Control and was a member of Union Christian Church. He loved racing, baseball and enjoyed reading a good book. He is survived by his sons, Michael Todd Rice and long time girlfriend, Andrea Tatum Turner and Woodson Brad Rice; mother, Louise M. Rice; brothers, Claude Swanson Rice, Jr. and Bobby C. Rice and wife, Nancy; sisters, Mildred R. Overby, Donna Susan Rice, and Cindy Rice-Koons and husband, Dan; grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Union Christian Church with the Reverend Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Donna Rice, 1161 Gills Mountain Rd., Virgilina.
