Zachary Tyler Cole

Zachary Tyler Cole, 18, of South Boston, VA passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his home after a long battle with a rare disease called Melas. He was born January 30, 1996 to Edward Fred Cole, Jr. and Tanya Flinn Cole. Survivors include his mother, Tanya Flinn Cole and his father, Edward Fred Cole, Jr.; one brother, Chase Alexander Cole; maternal grandfather, Fred Flinn and wife, Virginia of Scottsburg, VA; paternal grandparents, Edith P. and Edward Cole, Sr. of South Boston, VA; aunt, Karen Hupp and husband, Randy of Halifax, VA; uncle, Jamie Cole and wife, April of Halifax, VA; special nurses, Brenda Hamlett and Chastity Pool, and physician, Dr. Kernitsky at MCV/VCU, Richmond, VA. Preceding Zachary in death were his maternal grandmother, Edith Flinn, maternal aunt, Lisa Flinn, and maternal step grandmother, Martha O. Flinn. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Ash Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. John Eure officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ash Ave. Baptist Church on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
