Cody Lee Lewis of 1084 Newton Farm Rd., South Boston died May 13, 2011 at the age of 20. He was born in Danville, VA on January 10, 1991 the son of Emmett Clifton “E. C.” Lewis, Jr. and Annette Watts Lewis. Cody was a student at James Madison University, and he worked as the scorekeeper for South Boston Recreation Department Basketball and HCHS Varsity Basketball. He was a member of the World of Sports Monday Night Men's Bowling League and was an avid racing and wrestling fan. Cody was formerly a member of the HCHS FBLA, a HCHS and AYSO Soccer player, South Boston Recreation Department Basketball player, Dixie Baseball player, and was a former member of the World of Sports Youth Bowling League and Co-Ed Church Bowling League. Survivors include his parents of the home; two brothers, Emmett Clifton “Cliff” Lewis, III and his wife, Theresa of Richmond, VA, and William Bret Lewis of South Boston; one sister, Anna Michelle Lewis Flowers and her husband, Brandon of Waynesboro, VA; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Pool Watts of South Boston; and his paternal grandmother, Lissie Mae Lewis of Halifax, VA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William H. “Billy” Watts, Sr. and his paternal grandfather, Emmett Clifton Lewis, Sr. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Jason Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Monday night beginning at 7 pm and at other times at the home, 1084 Newton Farm Rd., South Boston.
