Dylan Ryan Mcelroy

SOUTH BOSTON, VA Dylan Ryan McElroy of South Boston, VA died Friday, December 26, 2014 at the age of 18. He was born in Albany, NY on September 11, 1996 the son of Ray Robert McElroy and Rosa Montanez Brewer. Dylan was a Senior at Halifax Co. Senior High School and had been accepted into Ferrum College. He was a member of the JROTC and the JROTC Raiders Competive Team, attended the 412 Youth Group at the South Boston Church of God and was a regular blood donor. Survivors include his father, Ray Robert McElroy and step mother, Jennifer Taylor; his mother, Rosa Montanez Brewer; sisters, Alexis McElroy, Audrianna McElroy, and Trisha McElroy; step brothers, Larry Taylor, Jr., Sebastian Taylor, and Gordon Taylor; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Cummings; maternal grandmother, Rosa Deras;step grandfather, Albert Pinto; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 3 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home, 506 Bellwood Lane, South Boston, VA.
