Harold Bruce Buchanan

Clarksville, VA - Harold Bruce “Peter Buck” Buchanan, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.He was born on July 25, 1923 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Luther and Clara Luther Buchanan.Mr. Buchanan was a US Army veteran who served his country in World War II.He was the owner of Buchanan Construction, a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and a former member of the American Legion. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Bowman Buchanan, and his children, Dorothy Day and Bruce Buchanan.He is survived by his daughters, Edith Miller of Clarksville, VA and Ruth O’Geary of Henderson, NC, grandchildren, Scott Miller, Diane Ivey, Mark Day and David Day, great-grandchildren, Tyler Miller and Tiffany Ivey Ayscue and a great-great grandchild, Wyatt Ayscue. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA 23927 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.The funeral service for Mr. Buchanan will be on Friday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with interment at Oakhurst Cemetery following the service.
