SOUTH BOSTON, VA Mr. Harry Byrd “Butch” Elliott of South Boston, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the age of 91.Born in Halifax County on July 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Morell Elliott and Clara Snead Elliott and was married to Rose Loftis Elliott. Butch was a member of Cherry Hill United Methodist Church and was retired from Teledyne. He was a past member of Hyco Road Ruritan Club and loved horses, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Rose; son, Harry Danfer “ Dan” Elliott and wife, Ginny of Virgilina; daughter, Kay Elliott Nichols and husband, Paul of Clarksville, VA; brother, Bob Elliott of Richmond, Va; sisters, Edith Williams of Scottsburg and Dorothy Dance of South Boston; grandchildren, Senecca Kirkhart and husband, Jason,Corbin Franklin and husband, Tyler, Leila Elliott, Quinn Elliott and wife, Laura, and Sarah Thompson; great grandchildren, Ethan Kirkhart, Elliott Kirkhart and Harper Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. A Memorial Service for Mr. Elliott will be on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church with Reverend Patricia Neilsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church and other times the home, 3041 East Hyco Road, South Boston, VA.
