Martinsville, VA - Dr. James Stanley Ross, 65, surrendered his long battle on Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home in Martinsville. He was born in Oxford, NC to the late James Edward Ross and Vivian Chavis Ross. Stanley Ross graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Chemistry and minor Religion, he was also member of Omgea Psi Phi fraternity.Following this, he worked for Phillip Morris as well as teaching chemistry and coaching high school football.Destined to impact as many lives as possible, Stanley received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa and moved back to southern Virginia to practice medicine.He was a beloved and well respected family practitioner in Clarksville for 15 years and in Pittsylvania County later in his career. Stanley is survived by his wife, Constance Maria Sklias Ross; and his sons, Maxwell Chavis Ross and his wife Nehidy Ross of Washington, DC, and Andrew Wysong Ross of Buffalo Junction, VA.Dr. Ross is also survived by his brother, Edward Cornel Ross of San Jose, CA and Tanya Ross Perkins and her husband Grady Perkins, of Richmond, VA.
