Mary Ann Throckmorton

Mary Ann Dawson Throckmorton, wife of the late William “Aaron” Throckmorton, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the age of 87. She was born in High Point, NC on June 20, 1933, to the late Edward Binford Dawson and Izella “Lizzie” Francis Dawson. Mary was a 1951 graduate of Turbeville High School and a member of Alton Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Cherishing her memories are daughters, Pat Fisher (Keith), Jeannie Newton (Dean); sons, Kenneth Throckmorton (Steff), Kevin Throckmorton (Angela), Ricky Throckmorton (Susan); 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and brothers, Wayne “Joe” Dawson and Warren Pulliam. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Kathryn "Kitty" Jones, Maynard Dawson, Melvin Dawson, Clarence William "Bill" Dawson, James Dawson, Virginia Ford, Bob Dawson, E.B. Dawson, Margaret "Polly" Reaves and Helen Dawson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg, VA with the Reverend Tony Brooks officiating.
