Owen Edward Thompson

Thomasville, NC - Mr. Owen Edward Thompson of Thomasville, NC and formerly of Scottsburg passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born on July 14, 1937 to the late Harry and Evelyn Mays Thompson and was married to the late Wilda Bell Thompson. Owen was retired from Burlington Industries as a mechanic, having worked there for over 45 years. He loved hunting, gardening and deep sea fishing. While living in South Boston, he and his wife attended Ingram Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by a son, Mark E. Thompson and wife, Elona of Thomasville, NC; sisters, Frances Throckmorton, Christine Polosak, and Evelyn Phillips; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, Robert, George “Buck” and sisters, Ruth Torian, Florence Krepla and Shirley Covington. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverend Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
