Clarksville, VA - Perry Ramon Gilbert, husband of Priscilla Jewett Gilbert, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the age of 96. He was born in High Bridge, MD on April 16, 1922 to the late Stanley Rice and Amparo Aragunde Gilbert. Perry served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 -1945. He was a drum major in the Washington DC Cadet Corp. He retired as a physical science administrator with the Defense Mapping Agency, where he worked for 41 years. Perry was formerly a member of Bowie United Methodist Church in Bowie, MD and currently a member at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church in Clarksville. In addition to his wife, Perry Gilbert is survived by daughters Elaine Feather (Larry) of Fayetteville, PA, Victoria Stephan (Kevin) of Moncure, NC and Teresa Corelitz (Jeff) of Annapolis, MD; step-daughter Laura Heltebran of Ashburn, VA; son-in-law Paul Smith of FL; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley Gilbert and daughter Diane Smith. Family wishes to extend thanks to the caregivers, Nannie Smith, Samantha Terry and Anthony Townes, who provided such good care to Perry during his illness. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. The Reverends John Bright and Walt Westbrook will officiate.
