Robert Wayne Shotwell

ALTON, VA. -Mr. Robert Wayne “Pee Wee” Shotwell of Alton, VA died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born in South Boston, VA on December 13, 1941 to the late Henry Alfred Shotwell and the late Gracie Lowery Shotwell and was married to the late Lorene Long Shotwell. Mr. Shotwell was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Semora, NC where he served as a Deacon and choir director. He loved cutting the grass at the church and was a former employee of JP Stevens and Dan River. Wayne's family always came first. Mr. Shotwell is survived by two daughters, Donna Lacks (Kenneth Loftis) of Clover, VA and Darlene Holland(Thomas Garber) of Dublin, VA; two sons, Ronald Shotwell (Amy) of Martinsville, VA and Kenneth Shotwell of Alton, VA; brother, Ray Shotwell (Bonnie) of Alton, VA; sister, Margaret Ford of South Boston, VA; grandchildren, Bradley Lacks (Ashley), Jessica Lacks, Bailey Lacks, Cameron Gill, Drake Holland, Billy Shotwell, Brittany Shotwell, Briana Shotwell, Shannon Hatcher, and Joseph Shotwell; and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two sisters, Nancy Poythress and Erline Shotwell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with the Reverend Doctor Larry Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 1070 Traynham Grove Rd., Alton, VA.
