Willie Bernard Throckmorton

Mr. Willie Bernard Throckmorton, age 81, of 3055 Macdonald Road, Scottsburg, VA, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010. He was born in Halifax County on December 4, 1929 to the late Henry Sharp Throckmorton and the late Lucy Wilmouth Throckmorton, and was married to Frances Thompson Throckmorton. Mr. Throckmorton was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church and was a retired excavator. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Wanda T. Hall and special friend, Donnie Ellington of South Boston; two sons, Jerry Throckmorton and special friend, Brenda Couch of Halifax, and David Throckmorton and wife, Cindy of Scottsburg; by six grandchildren, Jill Tribble, Christy Spencer, Kelly Comer, Joey Throckmorton, Trey Hall, and Elizabeth Hall; and seven great-grandchildren, Chandler Spencer-Toombs, Ashton Anderson, Stephen Comer, Brooke Comer, Grant Comer, Ty Throckmorton, and Noah Hall. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Magdeline Wilmouth and Helen Elliott and one brother, Edward Throckmorton. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg with Rev. Bob Woodfin officiating. The family will receive friends at the home.
